40 day cycle

good morning. I wondered if anyone was able to help me on my cycle as I would like to TTC.

My cycle is 40 days, is it possible that I am ovulating or is it more likely that I’m not ovulating? Is there anyway to check?

I never find that the ovulation sticks work (even when I know I am ovulating - ie I got pregnant).

When I used to have 28 cycles I used to Roughly calculate my ovulation as being two weeks before my next predicted period date. Is this logic still able to be applied to the long cycles?

I’ve recently stopped breastfeeding so hope my cycles may shorten….

If you find ovulation sticks don't work for you, the best way would be to track your temperature every morning.

The average ovulation is said to be around 2 weeks before your period but this can vary massively from woman to woman.

If you have never tracked your cycle before and don't know what it involves, I highly recommend the book 'Taking charge of your Fertility'.
