What are THE best Wellies?

I walk the dog. I also now have an allottment and am spending large amounts of my spare time digging, mulching and generally up to my knees in muck.
I've pretty much ruined my nice Ariat Wythburn boots as a result. My cheap wellies are rubbish for walking the dog in, and my feet are frozen.

I want really comfy wellies that I can walk in, are warm, and crucuially fit slim legs as I hate baggy ones and am slim calved. I don't mind spending a fair amount of money on a pair as I basically live in them.

I've looked at Muck Boots but suspect they might be a bit loose. Le Chameau wellies look promising but I don't want to pay for a brand if they aren't actually brilliant. I'd love any suggestions!!!

Definitely Le Chameau! I have wool lined ones and am on my third winter of wearing them for walking the dog every day. So comfy and totally worth the price.

Cheapest Dunlop boots from screwfix with a fleece sole in from sheepland. If you use them regularly there's absolutely no point spending tonnes on them. These ones last me longer than any others have. If one springs a leak I buy a new pair and keep the odd one to match up next time.

I have these. Meant for snow but absolutely fabulous. Keep your feet warm, dry and very sturdy. Also handy for when it does occasionally snow!

I have multiple family and friends who own them too and also say the same. Can't recommend them enough.

Another vote for Muck Boots. Wore mine every single day for years before the backs split. Warm, comfortable and I could walk miles in them, plus not ridiculously expensive and available from any agricultural merchant.

I love my Le Chameau ones, I picked them up for less than half price in one of their seconds sales but couldn’t find anything wrong with them. They have a tough life with me as we have horses at home so I’m out in them constantly in all weathers, despite this they still look virtually brand new.

For those with a wider calf, Jileon

I’m very happy with my Grubs Frostlune wellies I bought after a recommendation here.
I had to size down from my usual 8 to a 7. Plus they are a great fit on my chunky thigh.
I have Reynauds and they’ve kept my feet lovely and warm.

Aigle - had my current pair 4 years, they're worn for mucking out, walking, riding, gardening. Twice daily for about 8 months of the year. Still good as new . No splits or leaks, soles still excellent.
