Does anyone else just feel ‘off’??

Weird feeling, I’ve been like it all afternoon

I feel as if I could sleep for a week. Very heavy and very tired with little motivation to do anything. Still have so much Christmas things to sort and plan.

I’m eating fine and taking supplements inc vitamin D, and getting enough sleep mostly

Armchair diagnose me - what’s the matter? Anyone else feeling this way lately?

OP posts:
HalfBloodPrincess · 17/12/2023 17:32

I feel similar, but I have a fever- it’s been hovering between 37.5 and 39C for at least 9 days. No obvious illness and nothing hurts!
Went to the GP after 5 days and all tests come back NAD so who knows what’s going on

Why does EVERY cold symptom have to be covid?? Do no other viruses exist anymore? Obviously sometimes it is covid. But sometimes it's just a cold!

we are still
in a pandemic despite what the authorities would have you believe.

If this thread had been posted now every answer would be COVID.

https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/general_health/2864675-At-my-wits-end-with-never-ending-virus-Has-anyone-else-gone-through-this?flipped=1&page=1

But as it stands it was 3 years before covid started.

The difference is Covid is life changing as it’s a vascular disease. Good luck my friend.

Pandemics do not rid the world of other viruses though. Plenty of people have had life changing things through having covid. And plenty of people have had life changing things happen through other viruses.
I have had covid in 2020. Since then I have had precisely 0 illnesses. So for some people it may affect their immune system. For me it has not. I was however hospitalised with swine flu in 2009 and did not fully recover for almost 1 year.
I am not denying covid can cause awful things for some people. But honestly not every cough, runny nose, tiredness and feeling "off" is covid.

CalmaLlamaDown · 17/12/2023 18:03

Perfectlystill · 17/12/2023 17:08

Exactly!
Some people are OBSESSED

Some people still perform Covid tests for work.

I have the same symptoms as the OP and my Covid tests have been positive for 6 days so far.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 17/12/2023 18:06

I've had a hacking cough for a couple of weeks and yesterday started with a cold. I'd put the previous coughing down to allergies and had booked a doctors appointment for tomorrow but there's no point in going now as they'll blame it all on the cold!

To add to my woes my period started this morning as well and that's making me feel shit. Sorry for the self pity!

But that doesn't mean other viruses aren't available 🙄

The only symptoms the OP mentioned is tired and feeling weird. Plenty of people will feel tired with covid. Along with many many other viruses. And many many other problems. Including hormonal issues, pregnancy, bacteria infections like UTIs, more serious health issues like cancer, sleep apnea and other sleep disorders, burnout from life and many other things.

My hospital tests new admissions for Flu A and B, RSV as well as Covid. They are trialling a test for other respiratory viruses too.

The positive tests are overwhelming for covid at the moment. Really high prevalence in my area.

ace249 · 17/12/2023 18:14

we've all had this recently. we had a box
of flowflex and tested. All five of
us have Covid. Not many are testing, but that doesn't mean it's gone away!

I understand that but the way some people on here talk you'd think all the other viruses had gone away.

I've tested a few times since the cough started and all negative so I'm presuming I've got the good old fashioned common cold with a cough. I may test again but only because I've got elderly family. The annoying thing is DH will most likely have it just in time for Christmas!

I feel very down emotionally.
Hate my job
Constant family issues and realising a fair bit of my childhood was ruled by emotional abuse.
I’m going to be 39 soon so practically 40 and nothing to show for it.
No Friends
Chronic health issues
I remember some past Christmas times when life was easier and better and it makes me want to cry. Breaks my heart to be honest what life has become

Didn’t want to read this and run. Hug to you x

justanothermanicmonday1 · 17/12/2023 18:32

Urgh me!!!!!

Feel so awful. Think I'm just overwhelmed with Christmas and trying to get organised with a small baby and a toddler. Had a good cry to DP. He's sent me in for a bubble bath & I currently have a face mask on.

WOOOSA! 🤣

Archymum · 17/12/2023 18:33

COVID. Triple dawg dare you to take a test. It will be positive.

DatingDinosaur · 17/12/2023 18:38

mrsbyers · 17/12/2023 16:39

SAD

This. We've had some really shit weather just lately where it hasn't really got light all day due to the low cloud/rain. A few Vit D pills won't combat that. So that, combined with recovering from a cold - and there you are - feel "off" and want to hibernate.

Rubbish timing though.

TigerOnTour · 17/12/2023 18:45

It's midwinter, that feeling is normal.

You do have something to show for it. YOU. You are still here, you’re young and you are living. Please take care of yourself.

bonzaitree · 17/12/2023 18:45

Post viral fatigue from Norovirus starting a couple of weeks ago. Nightmare. Lost a ton of weight quickly and unhealthily. Bet my gut micro biome is fucked. I can’t seem to digest anything properly.

No wonder I’m knackered

uneasyfeeling · 17/12/2023 18:47

Yes have been feeling similarly
I thought it's to do with the fact that a brutal genocide is ongoing right at this second. The suffering energy perhaps reaches far and wide.

Chemenger · 17/12/2023 18:50

OnionRings82 · 17/12/2023 16:53

You mean you have covid.

That would be the third time in 3 months but it doesn’t feel the same, I’m pretty sure this is a cold. Which isn’t a huge consolation.

Carsarelife · 17/12/2023 21:26

I feel the same so tired and lethargic but currently mid menopause.
Just exhausted, work troubles, troubles with parents, car troubles = stress, anxiety, not eating properly and tired and grumpy

TigerOnTour · 17/12/2023 18:45

This. I’ve felt tired, heavy and lacking motivation mid-December to March for the last approximately 30 years. Maybe more. (I’m 59 for reference).
pit may be due to fighting off a virus (any virus, not just covid) but is more likely a product of winter.

Movinghouseatlast · 17/12/2023 22:42

I felt like that and it was Covid.

I had it for 5 horrific weeks. I read this article today.

Why Covid is still flooring some people

A lot of us know someone who has felt pretty rough with the most recent form of the virus.
