If you're spending Christmas day alone, what do you have planned?

I'm off for a dip in the sea with friends and then home to watch Big Jet TV and the Barbie movie with whatever I have scavenged from M&S the day before.

Nothing yet. I'll take it as it comes!

Nothing wrong with that @TheTecknician ! Also entirely acceptable to do absolutely nothing if that's what takes your fancy.

I'm just going to a friends so it'll be pretty relaxed. He's out for Xmas lunch so I'll cook something nice. So sort of on my own!

Thankyou @Notsogoodhousekeeping. I've had plenty of practice but I admit Christmas Day doesn't get any easier. It just seems like a waste of a day but it is only one day😊.

My kids are with their Dad for the day. I didn't want to be on my own so am volunteering at a church who are doing a Christmas meal

That sounds really nice - I did that once in my 20s but my parents hated being without me so stayed in a hotel nearby and I felt guilty at leaving the homeless hostel and heading off to a lovely hotel!

I find myself looking forward to the new year and life starting again. Although I also like hunkering down with nobody to please but myself. This is the first year I've been completely on my own though (through choice, had enough of facilitating everyone else's Christmas while they didn't really care if I had a good time).

Perhaps we could keep this thread going as somewhere to post if you fancy a natter on the day. I've yet to think about what I might want to eat. Not a fan of turkey but I do like the rest of the meal (you can keep your bread sauce though!).

Volunteering sounds great @Kaleidoscope101 . I looked for something similar locally but nothing within a reasonable distance.

My friends are mostly away with family on Christmas day @Tonight1 but we've plans for boxing day. Hopefully food will feature 😁

Food is always a good thing!!

I’ve promised myself a ‘me’ Christmas next year after facing a family bombardment this year 😁

I’ll probably go somewhere warm, sit next to a pool sipping iced coffee and reading my book all day then have a ready cooked restaurant dinner with no washing up to do or delegate.
