Aldi almat in the green box - amazing

What scent is it?

We have blue, yellow, brown and pink.

Porridgeislife · 19/12/2023 05:08

Daz definitely has a smell. I think it’s quite strong 🤷‍♀️ I keep a box in for cleaning oven racks etc!

I use Persil colour tabs (adult clothes) and Smol unscented non-bio tabs (bedding and toddler clothes) & I think both are quite good. The Smol stain remover booster is also amazing, better than Vanish powder.

Smol tabs. No chemicals,no sickly smell,no plastic packaging. Does the job and delivered in the post on subscription

I religiously used Fairy from when mine were born until they started school and needed something a bit more powerful, i love a good smelling laundry detergent though to be honest and used the matching fabric softener.

ive tried so many brands, I don’t have a favourite as such but I do think it’s best to use bio unless sensitive skin issues as it really is more powerful.

currently using Asevi Marseille soap liquid which is absolutely beautiful. It’s a Spanish brand and I get it on Amazon for about £6 for a large bottle. Smells so clean.

FastingBitchFace · 19/12/2023 08:59

Which Asevi one is it, @Zoflorabore ? The linen in the house we holidayed in in Spain this year smelled gorgeous, I wonder if it could be the same one.

Zoflorabore · 19/12/2023 12:53

@FastingBitchFace its actually called “Marseille soap” it just smells so fresh and clean, I get it on Amazon or one of the shops selling Spanish cleaning products near me. There are quite a few in the Asevi range though!

Ariel powder for everything (except wool) washed at 30°/40°.

Wool is washed in Eucalan.

If I'm doing a boil wash I use non-bio laundry sheets as bio enzymes are killed off at high temps.

Thelnebriati · 19/12/2023 12:57

I wash at a low temp, am fussy about perfumes and 2 of us have sensitive skin. Its a nightmare finding one that suits all of us, but most of the own brand ranges that don't smell like lavendar seem to work.

Does anyone use an eco egg?

fussychica · 19/12/2023 13:10

Aldi Almet. Green box for whites, cerise box for colours. I was disappointed when they stopped selling it as individual tablets which was so convenient, especially for travelling but the cleaning quality of the powder is the same excellent standard it's always been. Apparently in some award thing it won product of the year, not just washing powder of the year which seemed a bit over the top😄

Motnight · 19/12/2023 13:16

Aldi Almat Bio has been named Which? product of the year!

dementedpixie · 19/12/2023 13:27

I use a mix of bio powders. Whatever is on offer or an own brand.

Thanks! And is that biological?

TheFairyCaravan · 19/12/2023 13:38

Aldi Almat is brilliant. It gets all stains out as well, if not better than, big brands.

We struggle with detergent, need non bio as DH and kids have skin issues. We've used Ecover and Persil big box powder for years, every venture into something new end in tears and I can't cope with the strong smell of some detergents. But our washing smells damp and dirty, I can't get it dry fast enough.
Anyway, thought I'd take a chance on a new Persil liquid and it's great, isn't over perfumed, doesn't set DHs skin off and clothes don't have that dirty damp smell. I sound like a commercial! I'm not a huge fan of liquid and would rather have a powder that worked as well, but I'm stocking up on this whilst it's cheap at Tesco.
I do use less than the recommended amount.
