Is this weird or friendly?

I've just seen someone in a shop you've not seen for months. Don't know them really really well but they did quite a bit of work on our house over the past couple of years. We got on very well etc. They didn't see me and we're in a rush. Would you send them a WhatsApp to say "hi, happy Christmas, just missed you in shop name hope you're well.

DH says it's weird, I think it's ok? Options please

I don't see the problem. My DH was a builder and people who he hasn't seen for years and did work for once have done similar

We've spent 2 yrs renovating our house, so had LOTS of trades doing bits on it. If I saw one them in a shop I'd say hi, how are you, have a nice Christmas etc. IF they didn't see me though- it wouldn't occur to me to what app saying '"hi, happy Christmas, just missed you in shop name hope you're well.' 😕

Wish them a merry charismas if you like, but mentioning you saw them in X shop and didn't bother to say hi at the time just sounds odd IMO!

I wouldn't do it and would find it a bit awkward if someone did it to me. Fine if we chatted in the shop but would leave it there.
