iPhone unlocking

Want to pick the mumsnet brain! My DP is currently very unwell in hospital. He has been confused over the last 24 hrs especially last night and has now locked himself out of his phone by putting the wrong code in too many times. Doesn’t have the finger print unlock.
Hes going to be very upset when he realises as his family are not in the uk and he messages and calls them frequently.
Can Apple help with this? He’s too confused to sort it out himself

Prob have to go for a hard reset but will delete contacts etc unless saved to iCloud. What does Google say

You need to plug it into a laptop and go via the iCloud -

You press buttons on the phone u til it resets

So you kow his iCloud email?

I’m useless at this kind of thing . I know his email and his Apple ID and password. I know the pin for the phone - until he locked it
