Anyone else not been invited to a Christmas party?

That's it really. I've not even been to one of those buy a ticket things this year and I haven't got anyone to invite or the money to do my own so I spend my Friday evenings eating cheese and party snacks.

Come join me in my little pity party.

Me!

We had a works do, and that’s been the extend of my festive social calendar. I was supposed to go for drinks and a mooch around a Christmas market with two friends, but one bailed so we didn’t bother.

Can I drink Baileys at this pity party?

I know literally no one who is going to a Christmas party.

Are they even a thing?!

The odd work do, but not parties. M Al out, etc.

I mean, it sounds like you're living the dream to me!

Festive drinks, little meal, all that jazz. I know its a 1st world problem and all that but you do always wish for things you've not got. My family arent big on Christmas so the day iself will be me and DD. I love Christmas and really enjoy socialising. Maybe next year!

Me! None, but DH has been to 3 this week!!
I'm antisocial and don't mind too much, but it's a horrible time of year and easy to feel lonely.

None. It’s lovely. I saw some people out tonight, dressed up to the nines, and did a happy smile that I didn’t need to squeeze myself into control underwear and high heels ever again.

I loved going to parties when I was younger, but just don’t have the inclination these days.

Me - unless you count work, which I don't.

FelineUK · 15/12/2023 23:36

None, thank God. Working remotely, xmas parties are things from the past. Haven't worn heels or 'dressing up' clothes for years! DH's company doesn't have parties either which is a big relief for him too. Anyway.. in mid 50s we're too old for all that stuff and just want to be home after a day's work. No friends have had parties and feel the same way.. don't want to go out, would rather finish work and get home with husband/wife and family.
