Using Spanisfh Amazon gift card from UK

A Spanish relative has given me a gift voucher for amazon.es. My understanding is that this can only be used in the Spanish store. Will this mean that I will only be able to buy Spanish-language books, and will have to get things shipped from Spain and pay lots of postage and customs charges? Or is it pretty much the same as ordering from the .uk store, just in a different language?

Not Spanish-lanuage only books, but if the address of sender is in EU, then it's more expensive to send, plus customs costs which are shit.

I'm in Spain, anything bought on .co.uk is sent from UK with extra customs payments.

If you have family in Spain, my recommendation is that you use the voucher to buy gifts for them next time you need to, or perhaps to send yourself supplies (or a gift) when you visit! I think the vouchers last a very long time.

I bought stuff recently from Amazon Italy and it shipped to the UK with no customs fees. Took bloody ages but it got here. Shipped by Amazon though - likely different if it's a third party seller.
