Help with Audible!

My DH is already an Audible subscriber on the one credit per month plan.

I wanted to buy him a gift card for his stocking but the gift section on the Audible website only talks about gift memberships not gift credits.

Has anyone done this and if so how does it work?

I would love to know so I’m commenting in hopes we can get an answer - I LOVE audible so much.

I know you can just pay for books at full price - maybe Amazon gift card covers this. But it would be great if we could buy credits. My dp had saved his credits up after not using it for a while so I logged on as him and binge listened - I’ve used about 6 credits in the past month lol!

Good shout about the Amazon gift card. I'm sure it would cover Audible.

I love Audible too.
The French and Saunders podcast is worth the fee alone.

you can't gift credits on audible. But if you're a member you can buy a book with your credits and gift that

If you give him an Amazon voucher he can use it to buy books on Audible.

TeenagersAngst · 15/12/2023 13:32

Is that true about Amazon, I thought you couldn't use them for Audible?

Ok, on further research looks like you can't. I think that's mad, they're really missing a trick

I think you can just buy a gift membership and if the recipient is already a member, they get the credits straight away. So if you buy your DH a 6 month gift membership, he’ll immediately get 6 new credits added to his account (rather than one a month for 6 months as a new subscriber.)

Depending on your DH’s membership, you could end up paying a lot more per credit than he would if he bought more himself. I have the priciest membership and I can buy extra credits at £3 something.

So if I buy him a one month membership, is that a one-off or is that recurring? I thought it was the latter?

From the info I’ve linked above, a one month membership would give him 1 audiobook credit and Gift memberships will end after the gifted duration and will not automatically renew.
