Am I wrong or is this standard - Amazon refunds?

I ordered a red t-shirt from Amazon. A blue jumper (not even in a useable size) was delivered instead.

I've contacted the seller who says that I need to return the item to them to receive a refund, fair enough I guess. But they won't send a label and haven't said they will refund the postage costs?

I don't have a lot of money, I was buying the t-shirt for DD's school concert so I've had to buy another one anyway, so I'm down 2 lots of money for the t-shirt and now possibly postage costs to return a jumper I didn't want!

Amazon gives you a label to print off including postage or you can arrange an amazon pick up. As soon as it's acknowledged (usually same day) you will be refunded.

That's really weird then because I've asked the seller for one and they've said no, they can't send a label!

When I clicked on refund, it took me to a thing to message the seller. I'm just looking now to see if I can just do it through Amazon.

I've worked out what I've done wrong. I've gone to request refund, not return! I've done a return now and got a label! Ignore me! 😂

(I find the refund is processed as soon as I drop it at the post office, though that may only be for Amazon themselves, and not “marketplace”.)
