New Year's Eve party ideas/traditions

So I want to do a little NYE party this year - just me, DP and 2 kids aged 4 & 6.

First time ever doing this so wondered if anyone has any inspiration!

Can think of board games and fizzy drinks but think my brain has shut off before Christmas!

We did a design-your-own cocktail party once when our kids were little. We bought little umbrellas and muddlers etc, assorted cocktail glasses from charity shops, edible shimmers, fruit for slicing, sugar for sugar-rimmed glasses. Lots of different fruit juices and fizzy drinks and syrups. They named their cocktails and wrote the ones that were really nice in a special book so we could make them again. We had a few bottles of spirits so DH and I could add a bit to ours. Kids loved it.

We go to the theatre every nye - usually in the afternoon then the staying up isn't really a thing.
