What to do about Amazon return

Back in late October I bought a tap to replace the kitchen tap because it was leaking. I ran into issues with plumbers and then my against mother and it was only around about the 15th of November when I finally got the tap sorted. I ended up using a different tap. I meant to return the tap I bough from Amazon but I never got a chance to do it. I was so busy all throughout November and December. I had a 10 day stint in work day and night and that was gruelling and I was left with migraine. It's just been so busy over the past few months for me.

I went into my Amazon account today to finally sort out a return for the item because I still didn't even open the package. I premised maybe there would be a three month window for returns. I was wrong. It said the item was delivered on the 1st of November and the return window date was the 1st of December.

I missed the return date.

Can this be right? Any way I could return it?

Contact customer services or chat line and tell them. They are generally flexible, if they can be. Problem may arise if it was a marketplace purchase rather than Amazon stock, at that point it’s the sellers return terms which count. A month is pretty reasonable to be honest.

A month is reasonable but try a chatbot and see if they’ll be flexible.

Or sell it and recoup the cost ?

Definitely contact them online. They will accept the return for you - they basically just want a 5 star review for their customer service!

We're mid December! They are under no obligation to accept a return now. By law you have 28 days to return for an online purchase. 14 days to say you want to return it and then another 14 days to get it to them.

How much was a tap that you are bothered about trying to return it weeks later?! I think you need to write this one off.
