Amazon text password

I’ve always used DH’s Amazon account and ordered stuff, no point paying for 2 accounts. Now I can’t get on as it now sends a text message with a code to his phone.
Has he put this on the account, or is it a new thing on all accounts?

Unless we know him though and have discussed password protocols with him how woukd we know?

It should only happen the first time you log in from a new browser or phone. It’s automatic as far as I know but it’s possible he could have updated his security settings to make it happen every time. I’ve never looked in to it that much.

Because I asked if Amazon had put it on all accounts. If you’ve not got an account you won’t know.

Not yet but I did read something the other day about Amazon starting 2 step payment authentication. Which will be annoying as it's my husbands account like yours but linked to our joint account

I think its a new thing, I've had this happen to me this week on my own account on a device I've used before.
