Christmas Day game? For older teens/adults?

Can anyone recommend a card/board game/quiz for older teens? Preferably something funny/rude/sweary that will interest some of the teens for 10 minutes!

Cards against humanity went down well with mine as older teenagers. You can get different versions too, the Harry Potter one is filthy.

Don’t Get Got is a good one to play throughout the day.

We’ve also played a drawing game that was funny and rude. Scribble something…

Not quite a card game, but how about Taskmaster? Someone could be the Taskmaster and select a few suitable rounds in advance?

Also there's a dvd board game called Atmosfear that we really enjoyed - the games master on the dvd is really insulting and rude which my teenagers loved, and the game gets faster and more frenetic towards the end.

Who and I and what am I doing? Is a good variation on charades that had all of us laughing. Can get very silly. You pick a card with a person and a card with an action and then have to act it out so you could get Hitler cycling or The Pope eating pizza.

Thanks all I will go and have a look for the suggestions!

Quirkle is really good, there are a few different versions.

Marrakech is fun too.

Both work for pretty much all ages

SutWytTi · 14/12/2023 18:46

I like Fluxx, Port Royal or Mapominoes for this age group.

This was the game I was referring to.

We love “what do you meme”. It’s like cards against humanity but with memes that you match to the funniest sentence.

Also “New phone who dis”; cards against humanity but with watsapp messages 😂

NightmareGirl · 14/12/2023 19:30

I wanted to get cards against humanity but I was told it’s too innapropriate to play with male relatives/ teenage children. ?

WingBingo · 14/12/2023 19:31

Scrawl is awesome!

So is Muffin Time. Both had us all crying with laughter.

Everyone attending brings 3-5 gifts wrapped (less than a £1 each, tube of smarties, Sainsbury's has a range of quizzes and stocking trinkets that is perfect) that is placed in a pile.

1 x pack of cards split between all players

Game master goes through a second pack of cards three times, as players card is called they take a gift from the pile. Once the pile is distributed they 'steal' from other players - this becomes competitive as the players often fight for particular shaped gift. Once the game master has finished players unwrap their gifts.

Jeannie88 · 14/12/2023 19:59

Pictionary or cranium are always fun and a hit even with teenagers as they have to get involved and they do create fun. X

If Cards against Humanity is too sweary for you, try Apples to Apples

Codenames is fabulous, chameleon is also great but kinda similar.

Exploding kittens also highly recommended

That depends on how open or not everyone is - it's rude and outrageous and filthy - but my family have had great nights playing it. It's my 80 year old mother's favourite game! (But we have avoided explaining what bukkake is to her)

I find CAH a bit dull now but I’ve been playing it for 10 years with friends. It’s less shocking when you have seen the majority of card combinations.

NorthernAttitude · 14/12/2023 20:53

Cards Against Humanity definitely amused my kids at that age and it's less board-gamey if you know what I mean. Agree it doesn't have staying power like some games but it's a good option short term.

Wildernesstips · 14/12/2023 21:16

Never laughed so much as when we have played Obama Llama , but wondering if that is a bit dated now.

FortyFacedFuckers · 14/12/2023 23:37

Thank you everyone, so many great ideas!
