Do you eat food you don't like?

Following a random conversation with my dad!
I was making a tuna sandwich with chopped onion, cucumber etc and I put red pepper in it
Dad says "I don't like red peppers, or green"
Neither do I but they're good for you so I eat them

I guess I have a kind of hierarchy of food
Love - pizza, cake etc
Don't mind and will eat - veg, apples etc
Wouldn't touch if you paid me - offal, pistachios

I say I'm not a fussy eater because I will eat 99% of stuff but I don't actually enjoy it. Like cucumber, carrots, broccoli are neutral to me

No we wouldn't even buy food we don't like let alone eat it

Blimey! I eat food I dislike if it would be rude not to - or if I cooked it and it went wrong 😏 I also answer the door if I don't know who's knocking. I'm a Mumsnet misfit 😂

I can only think of two foods I really loathe: parsnips and salad cream. I'll still eat 'em as a guest. We were made to eat everything as children and, despite our overblown dramatics at the time, were glad of it as adults. Fussy eaters are at a social disadvantage.

We've all developed actual food allergies in older age - so we have to refuse some food groups now, for health reasons. That's different, but it's still socially awkward at times.

No, I don’t eat foods that I don’t like, but I’m a proper omnivore, the opposite of a fussy eater, who likes a lot of the stuff many people don’t (eg mushrooms, fish, blue cheese, chillis, celery, red wine, olives, offal, sprouts etc etc) so the list of things I actually dislike ls quite short.

What I do have is a list of foods which I could eat, & occasionally do, but don’t enjoy enough for them to be worth the calories & fat they contain. Pastry, cheap processed meat products (eg sausage rolls, economy burgers & sausages, Greggs pastries), cheese spread & processed cheese slices, crap chocolate eg Galaxy & crap beer, eg Carling would come into this category

I like most food. I love most vegetables. There are few foods I actively dislike, and I would avoid eating them. I don't need to force myself to eat foods I don't like in order to be healthy, because I like plenty of healthy knes! I love pizza and cake but I'd hate to only eat that!

I guess I'm lucky that I like a lot of healthy foods? But those that I don't like, I definitely don't eat - eg peppers, blackberries

I do the same. There are lots of vegetables I wouldn't eat if they were unhealthy, but I include them in my diet purely because I don't actually hate them and I know theyre good for me. I thought everyone did this!

There are quite a lot of items on my 'couldn't eat it if you paid me' list, and a fair few on my 'couldn't eat it even with a gun to my head' list. Trouble is, most of mine are things that loads of people consider desirable (cream, butter and milk are on my most severe list of yuck, along with white chocolate, bananas and baked beans) whilst I like and often quite love things a lot of people dislike. So on those 'how faddy are you' quizzes I always turn out not faddy at all, but in fact am very. The only food items I genuinely have huge cravings for are vegetables of various kinds (cabbage, parnips, runner beans as top three)
