I buy certain generic things which are the same probably elsewhere but I have to buy them at a certain place

For example
I will only buy paprika (any brand) from tk maxx
i will only buy walkers s&v crisps from Tescos otherwise they don’t feel’right’
sealable sandwich bags from ikea

just typing this is making me thing I e just finally lost the plot

Yeah that’s odd

BitOutOfPractice · 14/12/2023 02:26

No. I haven’t got the time, let alone the inclination, to go to different shops for the same thing.

GenXQuestion · 14/12/2023 02:29

I buy all my make up from ONE brand. And all my skincare from ONE other brand. I never mix and match make up or skincare.

Coolstorysis · 14/12/2023 02:31

Who cares, it's just stuff.

SkankingWombat · 14/12/2023 02:35

All a bit unusual apart from the Ikea sandwich bags, but that's because they are the best and you don't have the option to buy them elsewhere.

Lifeasiknowitisout · 14/12/2023 02:37

I think we all have odd little quirks. But I don’t have those particular ones.

I have 2 places I won’t buy make up or skin care from. Never used them. They are well known stores. Something just really puts me off them. Absolutely no reason.

I understand the sandwich bags from Ikea because they're cheap and good quality. Although I've bought some because Mumsnet made me, I try to avoid using them for certain things, because they're good quality and I feel duty bound to reuse them, and it's hard to wash them out properly, eg meat - we buy large packs and freeze in portion sizes, so I reuse plastic takeaway tubs for those because they can go in the dishwasher and stack better in the freezer.

I have certain things that I get from Home Bargains etc, but that's usually because they're cheaper there.

Walkers S&V crisps from Tesco is weird because they're the same everywhere, so just get them from wherever you're shopping, surely. What would you do if someone else offered you a bag and you didn't know where they'd bought them?

Unclutch. Just unclutch and don't be so rigid with yourself..

Just buy things from the most convenient place, and then you'll have more time to enjoy life.
