Just that really. Setting up a sports club for some primary school kids and just after a bit of advice on how to make it fun and engaging week on week!

You need to give us more info.

Are you a teacher ?
Or a volunteer?
Or a paid sports' coach?

Is is a 'multi-sport club' or coaching for one sport ?

Is it at a school?
Or something you want to do that is nothing to do with a school ?

Do you have a premises / pitch / pool / track / whatever the sport is played in or on ?

Will you be wanting to enter competitions / leagues ?

Are you DBS checked / done safeguarding / risk assessments etc ?

Yes sorry! Very vague of me. I’m a parent, fully dbs checked and first aid qualified . School have ok’d me setting the club up and given use of the facilities needed. I will be getting liability insurance.
I’ve also done level 1 in the specific sports qualification.

However this is my first time running a club and I just want to make it as fun as possible for the kids. It’s a netball club.

Ah.

Then I'd talk to the school about your behaviour policy.
What happens if someone doesn't engage / is challenging ?

I'd think about First Aid. What happens if there is an injury ?

Safeguarding ? Who else will be working with you ?

Process of the practice - register ..... what happens if someone doesn't turn up that you are expecting? ..... is it a free club or are they paying ? ...... how many children can you coach? ....... how will you choose who gets a place if more people want to come than there are places for? ......what do you do at the end if a parents fails to collect / if you don't know the adult who comes to collect ?

Then I'd start planning your sessions - combination of learning skills (then revising and practising skills); learning rules; learning tactics; playing actual games. Warm up and cool downs.............. are you working towards forming a team to play other schools / in local tournaments ?
