Christmas tree drying out already

Can I do anything to slow it? It’s our first year in a very warm, well insulated house and the tree is rapidly drying out. It’s already in a stand that holds water. Is there anything else I can do to save it?

Did you cut the end off before putting it in the stand?

Yes - we also left it outside in a bucket for a few days

I am in a very warm, newish build home and had to switch to an artificial tree, it looks very real and we use a wax melt for the tree smell. Not the same I know but the real ones were just drying out while they hadn't in our old Victorian built home.
