Hi can anyone recommend strong smelling handwash. For son who gas ASD and constantly worries his hands smell so sprays lynx on them. Prefarably a similar smell to lynx/aftershave. His hands are getting so sore. Thanks

Not a lynx smell but "flowers" by white company smells really strong on my hands after I've used it. Expensive if she ends up using a fair bit though.

Bringonthesunforthewashing · 13/12/2023 08:25

Emma bridgewater is really strong

BeansOnToast32 · 13/12/2023 08:36

INEOS Almond & Orange Blossom hand wash is really strong smelling and only costs just over £1

What about putting lynx shower gel in a hand wash pump for him?

Ortigia

I used a Squashies (type of sweet I believe) hand wash at my sisters house a few weeks back and my hands smelt of that for ages afterwards! It’s not a lynx smell but it’s strong.

Avalon organic rosemary has a lovely long lasting smell.

I personally think looking at the cause is more important though

I bought a cussons Christmas one from home bargains, it's purple and it smells strong and the scent lasts, everyone hates it as the smell lingers 🤣

ElevenSeven · 13/12/2023 09:14

Pears is quite strong for a cheap option too

Evenstar · 13/12/2023 09:31

The Cussons Christmas ones are very strong, Daschund Through The Snow and the purple one is Driving Gnome for Christmas as mentioned by PP

LilyJessie · 13/12/2023 09:37

Could you put lynx in a soap dispenser for him?
That way it's his fav smell too 😁

Agree the driving gnome for Christmas one is so strong

Wrights coal tar handwash. Tablet soap or pump

Bumblebeehum · 13/12/2023 12:41

Please try Bayliss and Hardings Goodness range which doesn't have SRS in it. MyASD son had something similar similar but couldn't articulate what the problem was (we think it was more to do with feeling clean and irritated skin than smell). Since we've switched to this his hands have healed and he doesn't have the compulsion to wash so much.

I agree with buying some cheap lynx shower gel from savers or the like and putting it into a dispenser for him.

The strongest and most longlasting handwash for me has actually been the green Palmolive kitchen smells one. I really really have a love/hate relationship with the smell of it. It's just so strong. I can smell it in a house straight away if it's been used there. It's at least nice and cheap as well. It's designed to get rid of the smell when you've chopped onions etc so am guessing that's why it's so strong!

Not quite what you asked for but Bath and Bodyworks do men’s hand sanitisers and the scent lasts for hours

uncomfortablydumb53 · 13/12/2023 15:38

I can think of some but if he likes that particular lynx smell, I would decant the shower gel into a pump l bottle and mix with some unscented hand wash if it's too harsh for his hands

mummyof2boys30 · 13/12/2023 16:26

Thanks everyone, i will try a few of those options and see how we get on. We used to use a lynx bar of soap but seems to be discontinued. The spray is bound to be so hard on his wee hands.

Put lynx shower gel in with a moisturising hand was.

ThereSnowLimit · 13/12/2023 18:13

Molton Brown. I have one called Amber something (?). A tiny blob leaves my hands smelling like men’s aftershave for hours 😆

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 07:35

I have a rhubarb Bayliss and Hardie one I bought from Lidl which leaves a gorgeous strong smell on your hands for ages

I love the smell

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 07:36

In fact most of the Bayliss abd Hardie ones smell gorgeous

Waitrose sell one of theirs with black background and flowers on it called something like Royal Botanical. Smells lovely

MilkLady02 · 14/12/2023 07:39

Imperial leather, frankincense and oud is very strong and quite a manly scent. My hands smell of it for so long afterwards, I don’t like using it because of the strong scent! It’s not an unpleasant smell, just feels strange that it can be so intense!

Mirrormeback · 14/12/2023 07:42

He might like these which Tesco currently have. One is a body wash but could be used as a hand wash as it might be his kind of smell
