Andre Braugher has died

My favourite Brooklyn 99 character. No one else could have played the role like him.

He was only 61.

So sad :( he played such a brilliant character!

I was so sad to read it this morning. I only knew him as Captain Holt, he was brilliant.

I loved him in House too.

And City of Angels, might have to rewatch soon.

He will always be Frank Pembleton to me. My favourite character in my all-time favourite TV show, Homicide: LOTS.

Brilliantly written and performed, it took the TV cop show to another level. Thirty years on, I still remember Adena Watson.

I thought Brooklyn 99 was ridiculous after watching it once but quite recently I began watching (whilst waiting for something else to come on). I must admit I really liked his character!

@Deathraystare I always thought Brooklyn 9 was kids of odd and fake but one I got into it (DH watched it at lunchtime during the pandemic) I actually found it to be really funny.

So sad to hear that Andre Braugher has died at such a young age. My DH has suggested we watch Homicide on the Streets in his memory, I have never seen it but it is one of his favourite shows.

It's a great series. Brilliantly drawn characters.

I have never watched B99 but all tributes for him sounds like he was a really wonderful and intelligent man. I like quote from his interview that he could have had a bigger career as an actor, a producer etc but decided to prioritise family. That's amazing especially in his industry. And apparently he could sing really really well

I was so sad to see this news this morning. He just seemed like such a genuinely lovely man. 😔 Brilliant actor and he should have had so many more years to shine.

Very sad. I watched him backwards as it were - Brooklyn 99 made me watch his other work. An excellent actor. No age at all.
