Aldi curry sauces - are they any good ?

I hope so. I bought a Saag Masala sauce yesterday but I've yet to try it. Only £1.50 and cheaper than Patak's and Sharwood's. I bought the Curry Sauce Company products years back but they're about a fiver a time so a little extravagant. They were, however, excellent. Especially the Jalfrezi.

I like the ones with the curry powder in the lid.

That's what I've got, @FrenchandSaunders. They call it a two-stage sauce. Lidl do much the same thing - I haven't had theirs either.

I always buy these. They are nice! Although I find the masala to be not as mild as the label makes out and it's actually quite spicy!!

We’ve used these for years too, always go down well

Lots of confidence in Aldi sauces then. Good to see.

We find the butter chicken the same.

I love these, the jalfrezi is excellent

Agree the jalfrezi is delicious.

ICantGetNoSheep · 12/12/2023 20:28

We’ve used both the spice-lid ones and the regular sauces, and the latter are actually really nice (and I think had a marginally better nutritional value…i.e. slightly less sugar)

Thanks all. I'll use it next week. Incidentally, I used two chicken fillets from my local butcher for this week's curry and a surprising amount of water came out during cooking. Disappointing considering I paid at least half as much again as I would for supermarket meat.

I used it on Saturday and it's rather good. Must try some of the other Aldi varieties.
