Anyone's DCs worked abroad during the summer?

And if so, who with? DD1 will have a long break from Uni and while she could continue with her wee part time job, it might be nice for her to have a bit more of an adventure.

Any suggestions?

Camp America could be a good one if that's of any interest to her!

I worked for Canvas Holidays in France during summer at uni. Highly recommend. There were also Key camp and Euro camp on the same site so various companies s to choose from.
Just general hostessing type duties- cleaning accomodation between guests, manning reception. Cycling round to check in on guests- many of whom invite you sit round their fire/BBQ with a drink and chat to them for a while.
It was fab!
You could also apply to work in the kids club but that wasn't really my kind of thing.

Yes both of mine worked teaching English in Italy. Travelled around doing maybe one week or two week camps. Stayed with host families ( usually the families of one of the students in the camp.
Had a great time, are still in touch with some of their Italien mums.

had a quick google not sure I can remember name, but it may the this though the name is not the same.

She's very highly trained in hospitality work as well as a trained life guard so I think she'd be a good asset to someone LOL

I can only find the canvas vacancies for 2021. I might be looking in the wrong place though lol

Neilson holidays always look fun for uni students to work during the summer

hazelnutlatte · 12/12/2023 18:58

I did work America with BUNAC during my uni summer holidays - the first year at a theme park and the second year at a holiday campsite / caravan park. With a J1 visa she can do any summer job she likes in the US

@ChocoChocoLatte Oh, this was a fair few years ago so they might have gone out of business! The other companies all had the same set up though so I'd check those out too.

ChocoChocoLatte · 12/12/2023 19:51

Thank goodness she has dual nationality - bloody brexit!
