Anyone else just not feeling Christmassy?

I don't know why but my decorations are up, I've bought most of the presents but I'm just not feeling it this year yet. I have some festive things planned in the next week or so and perhaps they will help but I'm not even much in the mood for Christmas music! I just feel a bit stressed out by it all this year.

You've written entirely in the style of a chatgpt response! The reference to holidays rather than Christmas. The even sized paragraphs. The soothing tone. The fronted adverbials.

Puffinlamb23 · 12/11/2024 15:12

No, I don't feel Christmassy yet because we're not even halfway through November. It doesn't even occur to me to feel Christmassy at this time of year. Honestly, I don't think about Christmas until early December at the earliest.

It sounds like you’ve put a lot of thought and effort into getting ready, so it's completely okay to not feel fully in the spirit yet.

Sometimes, the holiday season can bring unexpected stress, and with so much to plan and prepare, it can feel overwhelming instead of festive.

Hopefully, the upcoming activities you have planned will help lift your mood and bring some of that holiday cheer. Maybe taking a little break to relax, or even finding one small tradition you enjoy, could help ease the stress.

And remember, you’re not alone—many people feel this way, and the holiday spirit often sneaks up when you least expect it!

You would have hoped the holiday spirit had snuck up at some point in the last 11 months. 😂

That's a polite version of what I was going to say.

But then I noticed the date of the OP.

CurlewKate · 12/11/2024 15:13

I don't. Because it's mid November!

Does sound like chatbot talk and if not why have you resurrected a thread from last December!

It's November 12th. Not even advent. So no.

I was going to politely tell the OP to get to fuck until I saw the age of the thread. Poor OP! Grin
Why on Earth did you resurrect this thread? @MobilityCat HOW did you do it? It was posted in Chat!

I choose to use paragraphs, my response was inclusive of all religions holidays and yes I resurrected last years post because I feel the same. I didn't realise that there was a rule against it. If so, I apologise.

redexrt123 · 12/11/2024 15:44

Not me _ i was thinking of having a margarita amd making some tacos to get me in the mood for Cinco de Mayo.

How did you even find it though! Plus you're not feeling the same because it's mid November and the OP was posting mid December...

SummerHouse · 12/11/2024 16:06

Maybe Google found it. I thought the post by @MobilityCat was sweet. Also very funny that I came on the thread thinking 'what the heck, it's November' as we probably all did. If I had a sip of tea I would have sorted it at the chat GDP comment. So, all in all, I am happy with the entertainment this has provided. Thank you @MobilityCat

The thread is from December 2023.

Edit: although I came on to say the same as you but realised when I read the first post.

Well she wrote the OP in mid December last year!

Crushed23 · 12/11/2024 16:33

I don't feel Christmassy yet, no.

But I'm VERY excited about Christmas this year. I'm emigrating very soon and I am looking forward to experiencing Christmas in a new country/culture.

In fact, I can't bloody wait. 😁

It's up already in some shops

Feelingstrange2 · 12/11/2024 18:29

Shops and hotels are a bit different as they need seasonal trade even though I'd prefer they wait!

My DD has been given a tree and put it up already!! Can't believe it.
