Oooh! Either lemon cheesecake, or lemon chiffon tart for us.
lemon cheesecake is just cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk and lemons, in a biscuit base. I think the quantities are 2 tubs cream cheese, 1 tin sweetened condensed milk and 3 lemons, (zest and juice). Mix well and enjoy!
lemon chiffon tart is just a creamy lemon mousse in a biscuit base. I always have to look up a recipe for that. And I always use a mix of ginger biscuits and digestive biscuits for the base as I think lemon and ginger together are delicious.

nigella chocolate bread and butter pudding

this is going to sound weird but I make a slow cooked 6 hour Bangladeshi style rice pudding (nothing like the uk version). it's cooked with basmati rice, milk, almond flakes, cinnamon, cardamom, saffron and rose syrup. cream added towards the end. garnished with sultanas, toasted almonds and pistachios and more rose syrup. it is annoying to make as you have to keep stirring it, but worth it!

nigellas forgotten cookies (overnight meringue cookies with pistachios, cardamom and dark choc)

almond flour cake with rose syrup, orange zest, cardamom and saffron

Jaffa Cake Trifle... I saw it on a previous Christmas thread on here.
Orange Jelly dissolved with tinned clementines added as well. Pour over jaffa cakes and leave to set.
When set pour over Custard (I use a tin as easier to pour!)
Leave to set again. Whip up a pot of double cream. Pour over Custard and add hundreds and thousands.

@DilemmaDelilah are you able to share you Lemon Chiffon recipe please?

DilemmaDelilah · 12/12/2023 20:26

@NisekoWhistler I would love to - but I don't really have one! I find a lemon mousse recipe - I use one that contains real lemons, gelatine and whipped cream (it may also include egg whites?) rather than any that use lemon jelly - I think mine may come from a Jocelyn Dimbleby recipe book perhaps? And just a cheesecake type base made of crushed ginger nuts and digestive biscuits mixed with melted butter.
I'm sorry I can't be of more help!

Would you like my cheats Christmas chocolate and raspberry pots recipe?
It's delicious and super simple.

lurkingfromhome · 12/12/2023 21:04

Feta and honey cheesecake (I make it with a fig and plum compote but you could use any fresh or dried fruit, maybe a cranberry compote for extra Christmas vibes!). It’s the recipe from Honey & Co and it’s completely delicious. It uses kataifi pastry which can be a bit hard to find but so worth it.

FeelinSpendy · 12/12/2023 21:09

@freshgreen yes please!

I make a ginger/mixed spice sponge with fruit and nuts, and dates. A light Christmas pudding. Even my kids eat it

Amaretto Panettone Bread and butter pudding ... using cranberries and dates

lesdeluges · 12/12/2023 21:45

Tiramisu, no eggs or alcohol, just mascarpone and cream whipped together, add a drizzle of (slightly warmed) nutella and vanilla extract. Layer up with Cadbury's flake crushed on top of each layer. Make the day before and dust with cocoa powder on the day. Never failed me (yet!).

Titsywoo · 12/12/2023 21:57

I prefer something simple and delicious. Every year I do a plum and apple crumble - perfect winter dessert. Oh and no bloody oats in my crumble - just flour, butter and sugar, as it should be Xmas Grin

Ohmylovejune · 12/12/2023 22:39

Anyone making cheesecake - last weekend we had a beautiful.cheesecake and in between the biscuit base and cheese filling they'd put some (non salted) pistachios. Gave a wonderful crunch and lifted the taste. I'm.going to try it next time I make one.

FeelinSpendy · 12/12/2023 21:09

@freshgreen yes please!

Here goes

In a glass, ramekin, wine glass etc. whatever you have.

Buy
Brownies
Cadburys Pots of Joy
Raspberries
Marscapone

Put brownie in bottom of dish/glass and squash a bit to fit to the sides (and if you want add some sherry/liqueur/brandy to soak it a little).
Raspberries on top of that (I tear them into 2 so they are a bit juicier).
Spoon Pot of Joy on top of that.
Then top with big blob of mascarpone and a raspberry on top to decorate.
Chill in fridge till needed.
Never admit to cheating!!
Enjoy x

Mont Blanc...looks impressive but easy to put together especially if you use bought individual meringue nests.

Black Forest cherry and chocolate trifle.

Baked Alaska, always a real show stopper!

@madaboutmad This sounds delicious! I like traditional Christmas pudding but I'm the only one who does. Would you mind sharing your recipe please?

BIWI · 13/12/2023 10:13

Two things I've made recently which would both work for Christmas - Rick Stein's Crème Brulée ice-cream (in his book Coast to Coast), and a recipe from Olive magazine for Baileys ice-cream.

The former I made recently for a dinner party, and served with squares of (home-made) millionaire's shortbread and fresh berries. The latter I've just made and is in the freezer for either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day. Not sure what I'll serve with it, but probably something chocolatey.

This no-churn Baileys ice cream is perfect as an accompaniment for your Christmas puds, and requires just 4 ingredients to make

No sponge or coffee?

This is amazing. Far too fussy for me to make. (I did check Ocado for the ingredients though.)

I stick to things that I know everyone really loves. This year for various events I’m hosting I’m doing Tiramisu (Theo Randall’s recipe is fail safe), Nigella’s London Cheesecake, Millionaire’s Shortbread, Dates dipped in Chocolate with a toasted almond on top and Pavlova served with double cream and plums roasted in cinnamon and orange.

This Baileys cheesecake. I think someone linked it this time last year and I actually made it twice in a week (for different guests) as it was so easy and tasty.

Teddleshon · 13/12/2023 10:39

@lurkingfromhome This recipe looks amazing and I see they suggest that filo can be substituted- have you ever tried this? @CheersToMe Jane’s Patisserie is such a fab book, I’m doing her cinnamon rolls for Christmas Day breakfast, the best recipe I have tried by far!
