I say ; 'left us' as he HAS. I'm disabled, both teens have Autism to a disabling degree. ExH decided it 'was all too much' & moved 10miles away (he recently got ASD dx too 'so cannot be expected to parent like you do').
Now, tbf he does sometime come & do some DIY as house is decrepit & I have no £ to pay tradesmen). But its absolutely when & if he feels like it regardlessof water pouring through ceiling / broken boiler / flooding (all in last 6m) & ALL other parenting is done by me (inc all finance as he's now medically retired too). We have some elderly neighbours. They know whole story. Are prominent Christians in rhe village. Invited me on a recent Alpha course which is eves so I can't attend as no one to cover kids (exH literally never does 'childcare' or has them at his). Last time I saw Mrs Christian she ssud: 'you look like you got the weight of the world on your shoulders'. I do.

So, why would they put an Xmas card just addressed to exH in my letterbox?

I would imagine they just send Christmas cards to everyone and don't know his new address. It might be they want you to get back together and are telling him he's still part of the community there. If its upsetting would just put it in the bin.

I'm not an expert on this but have an asd teen who needs full time care so sympathise with you a lot. That housing conditions sound awful, it might be worth calling someone like Shelter or social care to see if there's any way they can help with issues like that. Someone on the SN chat board will know more than me.
