For me it’s teddies. They are so bloody awkward.

My efforts to wrap a basketball were pretty tragic.

Wanttobeok · 12/12/2023 12:00

Anything roundish so candles, balls etc

Also those toys in half packaging, they really piss me off!

Love a nice box or a book

PuttingDownRoots · 12/12/2023 12:03

When the present is just slightly too big in one orientation for the paper, so you have to do it the other way and there is too much paper.

TheNameIsDickDarlington · 12/12/2023 12:39

This year it was a Spinosaurus toy that did not come in a box, absolutely insane shape to wrap! Made the football we got for DS2 feel easy.

Soubriquet · 12/12/2023 12:42

I hate presents not being in a box…would make it so much easier. But I guess that’s life now

Definitely ball shaped items. There's a good video on YouTube showing how to wrap a ball.

CattingAbout · 12/12/2023 12:43

I'm hopeless at wrapping so pretty much anything that isn't a rectangle looks awful when I do it!

48wheaties · 12/12/2023 12:43

That's why in the run up to Christmas I start saving boxes of all sizes, even cereal boxes. I hate wrapping clothing items or small trinkets, so I always have a box on hand so I can wrap a normal shape (and keep the kids guessing!!)

Sugarfree23 · 12/12/2023 12:56

Would you not wrap a ball like a big sweetie?
Wrap it round the middle then do the ends with a ribbon?

However I loath toys in half boxes. And things like Slippers in no boxes.
I might nick the idea of using cereal boxes.

SinnerBoy · 12/12/2023 13:10

Bottles, other round things and asymmetric things. I've done ours this morning, there were only a few bottles and one foundation compact.

Tighginn · 12/12/2023 13:14

Hate them all equally, wish it was acceptable to chuck everything in a bag and just hand it over.

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/12/2023 13:17

Definitely those half boxes where you can see and touch the toy on one side. I keep sticking my finger through the wrapping by accident now.

daffodilandtulip · 12/12/2023 13:17

The stocking presents. All the others are wrapped weeks in advance and prettily sit under the tree. I'll put off the stocking until it makes me miserable doing it on Christmas Eve. They're all little and fiddly and annoying.

ChainBastard · 12/12/2023 13:22

Clothes. The squashyness makes them incredibly annoying!
I'm immensely grateful that my children are no longer of an age where they get the half boxed toys, I used to get DP to do those because he's more patient than me.
However give me a book or a game, something rectangular to wrap and I am in my element, I take real pride in the sharp straight edges and near invisible joins!

Footprintsinthesand · 12/12/2023 13:29

Teddies don't get wrapped here. They poke out of the stocking so they don't get claustrophobic.

Anything round or tube shaped gets wrapped like a cracker with some ribbon.

But yes to toys that are opened on one side. I've had to do some patchwork on several presents!

BreakfastOfWaffles · 12/12/2023 13:33

I have just had an absolute nightmare with some bubble wrapped baubles! Should have used a gift bag....

LabRat90 · 12/12/2023 13:45

Had to wrap a stegosaurus yesterday. That damn near broke me.

jollygreenpea · 12/12/2023 13:47

Everything, I just slap paper and sellotape on.

jay55 · 12/12/2023 14:00

I can't wrap anything. I buy the foil bags with drawstrings.

Borka · 12/12/2023 14:03

Little tikes cosy coupé - I'm so glad DS is now at the age of small, expensive presents that come in nice rectangular boxes!

Snowdogsscarf · 12/12/2023 14:04

I love wrapping, it is one of the joys of Christmas for me so don't hate anything! No idea why I love it so much!

WaitingfortheTardis · 12/12/2023 14:06

Anything rpund shaped like a bottle, or anything too soft to place the paper properly. Dd is getting a Barbie house this year and I think that may be interesting to wrap.

Rockfordpeach · 12/12/2023 14:07

I hate the toys that come in a box with one open side. I always find the paper rips and it doesy head in

DrWhoWhatWhy · 12/12/2023 14:07

Every single one.

stargirl1701 · 12/12/2023 14:07

Switch to fabric wrapping.
