What’s for lunch?

I’ve seen a few what’s for dinner threads, so let’s have a lunch edit!

Ive got a bowl of roasted butternut squash soup and a crusty roll, with a bottle of lucozade orange to pep me up as have not been feeling well.
Also there’s a bag of M&S easy peelers that was a freebie from the 12 Days of Sparks to add a dose of fresh vitamin C 😁

What are you having?

Piece of game pie, some cheddar, salad and pickled mini pears. Mince pie and grapes.

CointreauVersial · 12/12/2023 13:09

I've just had a bowl of home-made Thai Chicken soup, which was scrummy (if I do say so myself 😆).

Then a few olives and slices of salami on the side - I'm low carbing, so no bread for me.

We had left over beef casserole with some bake at home rolls. Was lovely!

DP has gone out for the afternoon/evening now so I’m now deciding what I want to cook myself for dinner. I’m thinking maybe sweet and sour cauliflower…

Warming up a couple of slices of cold pizza and having that with salad and hummus.

I want this. I am jealous, deeply jealous. Xmas Envy

Mine was overcooked. Xmas Sad (By me.)

gingercat02 · 12/12/2023 14:07

Small baked potato and cottage cheese. Followed by a nectarine and a banana. Might have a coffee now.

FuckingHellAdele · 12/12/2023 14:07

M&S Pigs in Blankets sandwich Smile

onwardandupwards · 12/12/2023 14:12

M&S Pigs in Blankets sandwich Smile

that sounds incredible!

We were between hospital appointments so had roast turkey, roast potatoes and carrots in the hospital restaurant. It was very nice!

Tonight I'm going to have a coronation chicken and lettuce sandwich, and DH is going to have an egg and bacon sandwich.

TheChosenTwo · 12/12/2023 15:23

Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs with a bagel and then an apple. Would quite like something chocolatey but I don’t have anything I fancy in the house!

@CandidFruit
Just pop round and I'll make you one, never short of a fish finger here! Xmas Wink

Am I too late? Feeling peckish now 😄

Lots of nice lunches on here, gives me inspiration to be more adventurous.
Now need to think of something for dinner!

Today had rye sourdough toasts with hummus with a Greek salad (all leftovers from dinner last night) and some caramel digestives.

Hedjwitch · 12/12/2023 17:31

Home made lentil soup and a roll.

LinguisticallyCunning · 12/12/2023 18:18

A co-op tuna mayo sarnie that I dropped on the floor in the mud and didn't have time to get another until I was on my way home. I also had a packet of beefy hula hoops - the big ones - and a bottle of Sprite.

Today I'm going to shmoosh an avocado up with some mayo and stick it on a slice of rye bread and top it with a fried egg.

Sourisblanche · 13/12/2023 11:10

Leftover red cabbage stir fry sprinkled with mixed seeds and a fried egg on top (which means the egg turns a weird purple colour underneath!).

Plus some smoked salmon that needs finishing.

drawingmaps · 13/12/2023 12:02

I'm going to try a bean and cheese toasties as the toastie maker is still out from yesterday. I'm concerned about leakage though. Do you have to sort of drain the beans?

CandidFruit · 13/12/2023 12:34

I’ve got some Itsu gyoza dumplings today for a quick lunch as work is super busy.
I’m still hankering for a fish finger sarnie though 🤭

@drawingmaps I’m not a toastie expert but I’d probably err on the side of caution and drain off quite a bit of the sauce.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Vegetarian sausage rolls

BarryKentPoet · 13/12/2023 12:37

Gregg's Christmas lunch baguette and a satsuma.

dotdotdotdash · 13/12/2023 12:38

Carrot soup and sourdough toast here

I did a slice of ham, two small spoonfuls of beans with as much juice drained as I could, and a thin slice of cheese to make it melty. Some leakage, but not too much, and good with brown sauce

Soup as well!

Heinz cream of tomato soup with a slice of buttered tiger bread.

If you haven't tried the Sainsbury's cream of tomato I would recommend you do. It's nicer and cheaper.
