Anyone else crazy about Stilton cheese?

Bought a chunk of Stilton for a bit of a do last weekend. There was about 150g left. Today, little bit by little bit, I've finished most of it off. Just couldn't stop myself. It's the only Christmas food I can't resist. Christmas pudding, pigs in blankets, trifle, chocolate — not bothered. But stinky Stilton...

I have to be in the right mood for it. It's great added to an omelette.

You are all making me drool! I love Stilton.

I have never met a cheese I don't like 😁 All 3 DSes love it too, especially DS2. He is 12 & has autism, but he is the complete opposite of the stereotype of only liking a few foods - I can only think of about 5 he doesn't like 😁

I've just made a mushroom and leek omelette and sprinkled a bit of stilton over the top .... divine.

I don't usually have breakfast but found myself rushing home from the school run to slather some rustic baguette with butter and Stilton before the work day started then by 12 was feeling like I was enduring withdrawal symptoms without my next hit.

It is sooooo addictive. The best I ever had was from riverford when I had more spare cash than I do now.

It's like crack...

It's not my favourite but I remember a very posh French person telling me they like Stilton. If it's good enough for the French it must be good!

It's wonderful to be among other cheese-lovers. My partner is strictly mild cheddar, IYKWIM. We probably shouldn't be together if the cheeseboard is an accurate determiner of compatibility! He has the same look on his face when he sees me hoovering up Stilton and other fabulously flavourful cheeses as I do when I catch my dog eating something rotten washed up on a beach. I'm interested that others describe Stilton as addictive. If it wasn't for the fact that the car is being serviced I'd be out seeking my next fix.

I love the idea of celery and stilton soup and that will be on my menu over Christmas.

Thanks so much for the Stilton pot recommendation. I've ordered two as gifts. Had to have them delivered to the recipients as the chances of me eating them if they were delivered here were too high. Have also sent a Fine Cheese cheeseboard to my BIL, who is another cheese fan. I think I've only met one cheese I couldn't eat, and that was at a French wedding where there was a cheese feast served late in the evening. Among the amazing variety on offer was a cheese like a giant brie, as tall as it was wide, and very soft and oozy and a slightly green shade. It smelled very strongly of that boiled cabbage smell that I remember from guesthouses in my youth. I just couldn't eat it.

Heaven. Absolutely worth it. Cannot recommend highly enough.

@Bernardmanning I just want to thank you for mentioning Fine Cheese Company and the stilton. I've just ordered gifts for my family from there!
