Tell me I'll be fine in a swimming suit - pregnant and bloated!

I am going to Centre Parcs this weekend. I just found out I am pregnant and will be 6 weeks. YAY! Thing is I never really lost all the weight from DS, everyone said it would fall off breastfeeding, it did not! I stopped BF in Sept and have been pregnant once since then, MC at 5 weeks. And now pregnant again so those 10lbs are still there. Plus I am soooo bloated. But don't look pregnant yet just fat!

I'll be grand though won't I? I know 90% of people honestly do not give a hoot what others look like, well to a degree, I'd imagine people might say something if I wore a string thong and nipple tassels into the pool

Nobody will be looking at you or will care. You could buy a Tankini with a loose top (yours) but you probably don’t have time. With age, one learns that it really doesn’t matter what you look like round the pool. Go abroad and look at the older, fatter women who wear swimsuits with pride. Congratulations on your pregnancy. Have a good weekend.

No one will care. Enjoy yourself.

No-one will care, don’t worry. Just make sure you have swimwear that fits well.

Whataretheodds · 11/12/2023 15:59

Those who matter won't mind and those who mind don't matter

eurochick · 11/12/2023 16:09

No one will care. Your body is about to change significantly. This is just a taster.

Thanks, ye are all sooooo correct. I have two lovely swimming suits that still fit and they will do. We will hopefully have another short holiday before baby arrives probably at home and I will need a new maternity one for that but I don't need to buy one in the next size up just for now. Or feel I need to cover myself in a sack 😂I need to talk to myself like I would speak to another woman, with kindness

If it makes you feel any better I went to a spa last week, I’m 38 weeks pregnant and was in a swimsuit. No one batted an eyelid other than to ask if I needed help getting in/out the pool! Go enjoy yourself!

SisterMichaelsHabit · 11/12/2023 16:22

You'll be grand OP, just enjoy yourself! I went swimming with DS when I was 9 months PG with DD. I had excess fluid so I was big as a house and not even maternity swimsuits fitted me so I ended up in a bikini! I just stayed in the water as much as possible and tried not to think about what I looked like.

Onionsmadeofglass · 11/12/2023 16:22

OP. Fat people are allowed to swim at centre Parks. No one will care that you’re carrying 10lbs more than you were before your first pregnancy. Most people would have no way of knowing any of that anyway. They’ll be worrying about their own swimsuits and their own 10lbs or saggy thighs or cellulite or badly shaved legs or lack of pecs or skinny arms or random scar or stretchmarks.
People are mostly too worried about their own image to bother judging others at the pool.

pontipinemum · 11/12/2023 16:26

@Doubleespresso33 ooohhh 38 weeks you are nearly there!! When I was pregnant with DS I didn't mind being very obviously pregnant it's just this bloated feeling now.
@SisterMichaelsHabit I'm sure you looked beautiful, love Derry girls :)

@Onionsmadeofglass so so true. I really don't normally think like this. We went on holidays in Sept and I work a swim suit no problem even though I am far from 'my best' I know really that most people do not care what anyone else looks like.

I am being very very hormonal today, nearly took the head off DH this morning for absolutely no reason. Thankfully kept my mouth shut because he really hadn't done anything wrong. I'm also feeling exhausted and nauseous so probably a bit grumpy
