I’m desperately trying to remember the name of this children’s book. Can anyone help?
It’s about a town house (perhaps in a fancy part of London) on Christmas Eve, and more and more people keep having to come in to stay the night. I think a car breaks down in the road outside and the occupants have to be squeezed in, and then some aunts or uncles turn up, and a baby, and some children, and the house gradually fills up until people are even sleeping on shelves and in bath tubs. Then at the end it’s Christmas Day and they all celebrate together (I think!).
We read it last December and my children are keen to read it again - but I can’t for the life of me think what it’s called.
(Alternative recommendations for a lovely Christmas story with nice pictures for children under 10 also appreciated!).
