Do your dishwasher tablets do this too?

Sometimes it's as if the plastic wrapper doesn't melt/dissolve fully so the dishwasher tablet doesn't drop out of the tray. The only fail-safe solution I've found is to unwrap the tablet first, but it's a faff. Just me?

Very occasionally, like maybe once or twice every six months?

I use supermarket brand eco tablets as I can’t stand the scent of the branded ones, idk if that makes a difference.

Yes, occasionally.
I reckon a wash with very little detergent a couple of times a year will be ok.
Mum had a dishwasher that the soap drawer didn't open during the cycle. She just used to chuck the tablet onto the top rack. It was all fine.

That's due to the tablet sticking to the drawer. Make sure the drawer is bone dry before you put the tablet in, and your fingers too.

I just put the tablet on the floor of the dishwasher, works fine and no more soggy half dissolved tablets or residue.

Just chuck the tablet in onto the floor of the washer with the dirty crockery before you switch on
