Does your Alexa ever go weird

Honestly mine acts as if it's haunted. I keep it on most evenings for white noise and every so often, like maybe every 4 weeks it starts making these weird distorted noises almost as if someone is trying to talk through it. Lasts about ten minutes then stops. Feel like sprinkling some holy water on it! The power of Christ compels you, Alexa! It sometimes boops in the middle of the night too as if it's heard someone talking to it, but nobody has.

Maybe we are all at the start of a horror film?

Ours woke us up in the middle of the night with facts about Glastonbury. I looked up what triggered it the next day: nothing.

This is so funny 😆

Glad I don't have one ☝️

You're all being trolled by a load of workers at Amazon's Alexa dept! "Sounds like Julie & Steve are snoring. Let's treat them to some facts about Glastonbury 🥸"

Not Alexa, but Google. She has been known to randomly say something in the middle of the night.

I do talk in my sleep though (and scream etc) so maybe I inadvertently do it.

Back to Alexa, that's the start of a horror film.

We have a few and I'm convinced they have different personalities. Some are compliant and some are very awkward

TiptoeThroughTheToadstools · 10/12/2023 23:50

Mine likes to show off her farting when we're watching movies and refuses to stop 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have 2 in my bedroom. One is exclusively used as an audible clock, the other is mostly used for reading me books. Neither has randomly done something. I do have issues, sometimes, when asking for a book to be read and he (mine is ziggy) talks about a totally different book.
One time I said he was being a pain in my left toe and he apologised.

Mine has started turning on for no reason, and won't stop playing something when I tell Alexa to stop. Also I will just be talking normally, having a conversation & Alexa will pipe up and say "I didn't quite get that", even tho I wasn't talking to Alexa.
I'm putting it down to needing a new one? Had it for around 3 years.
