Several years ago now, probably 2018ish, I posted under AIBU regarding some very strong views my partner had that were starting to impact our 4 year relationship. The thread had over 600 replies (and was picked up by the daily fail
) but all of you were totally equivocally in favour of me walking away.
You gave me the strength to do so and I reflected long and hard before posting but in hindsight I'm so grateful I did.
Today, I put up the Christmas tree with my new partner who I met last year. Our relationship has been totally different to my last; we communicate, we share views and can agree to disagree with no issue, we work as a team and we love each other just so very much and are so happy. One of the reasons I left my last relationship was our differing views meant I couldn't really see myself having children with him. This time around we have talked so much more about the future and I am looking forward to it all so much.
So thanks to you all! You all supported me when I needed it and I am so eternally grateful
