Regular Injections of Motivation to Stay in Shape

With exception of dehabilitating PMS week, I exercise several times a week to stay fit and healthy (aged 45). Completely honestly, also to stay my current size as I put on weight easily.

I find it much easier to refuse a sweet treat if I have something lovely to wear on order, or an event to dress up for. Also a new exercise kit, even new socks, make me more excited to exercise Basically, little bribes.

I am curious if anyone else is similar and what other little tricks (less spendy) do you to keep in shape with enthusiasm?

I sign up to 6 week blocks of yoga classes. I'm more likely to attend if I've paid up front. It never worked with a gym subscription though for some reason - maybe because I could go whenever I liked.

I have an exercise buddy and we go in the gym once a week for a good catch up workout.

I'm also in a couple of walking clubs so have that commitment a couple of times a month.

I'm more likely to stick to it if I enjoy it. I also like the variation of strength, toning, cardio and respiratory so I don't get bored doing the same thing each time.

Would I still do any of this if I didn't have the commitment? Probably not as regularly - I'm sure I'd always find an excuse to put it off.

But yes to the nice new sport/exercise gear - that's always inspiring.
