I've used it far older than that, it had been open in the fridge, but it wasn't home made. As long as it's not got things growing on it, you're good to go and another splash of booze isn't going to hurt.

The best mincemeat is laid away for a year or two to mature.

If it's been open, smell it / try a bit. If it looks, smells, and tastes ok it's fine.
