Airline flight schedules for summer 2024 ???

Does anyone connected to an airline know when the flight schedules for May 2024 are published? None of the usual channels to book a flight show anything past January. Surely we're not the only ones trying to plan a trip next year when the accommodation can't be booked until we know when there are flights? Travelling to Bologna from either Bristol or East Midlands.

I'm aware that for many people a holiday isn't possible due to current financial climate, but we have saved hard this year and can just about do this for next year so please don't jump on me. 2023 has been difficult for personal reasons and the thought of this break and planning is keeping me going, but I'm stuck now with this lack of info.

All airlines have published their Summer 2024 schedules at this point.

The issue is more likely that you can't fly direct from either Bristol or East Mids to Bologna. Which airline did you have in mind?

Schedules are often out nearly a year in advance, though subject to change.

Trains in Italy are good so you could potentially fly to a different airport and get a train to bologna

There's probably limited availability to Bologna from the UK. It's not really the sort of place you can get to from regional airlines mainly served by budget airlines.

You probably have the choice of flying there with BA from Heathrow or Gatwick, or flying somewhere else in Italy with EasyJet, Ryanair or Jet2 and getting the train to Bologna.

Well I must be missing something on airport websites. Have now looked at Bristol, Cardiff and East Midlands for flights to Italy in May 2024 on the basis of a poster advising fly to a more popular destination e.g. Florence or Milan then get a train to Bologna. No results anywhere! I don't care which budget airline and can be flexible on dates. Have airlines really released summer dates?

They're regional airports though still.
You'd need to be looking at Manchester, London (all), Edinburgh, Birmingham etc.

There are only three airports flying to Bologna in May next year, see my pic. It's not a popular regional destination.

A quick look on Skyscanner shows flights from London or Manchester to Bologna in May, or Bristol to Pisa (Pisa is well seved by trains, with an express train at the airport). I'm not sure you can't find anything as that came up in a search taking about 2 minutes!

LIZS · 09/12/2023 14:45

Agree most are out now. Bologna and Florence have limited choice of airline and departure in UK, possibly not everyday so you may need to be flexible on dates. Pisa, Genoa and Milan are more frequent ime.

Hang on, you said you are looking at airport websites..you need to be looking on the airline websites or something like Skyscanner
