Buy Less but Better - Realistic?

Has anyone managed to fully transition to better quality, smaller wardrobe on the same modest budget - say £150 a month?

I am really struggling with craving variety and sticking only to well planned, considered purchases. I see people walking round with bagfuls of Primark and feel a stupid pang of jealousy.

It can be done I think if you incorporate second hand buys in to the mix. For example I spotted a Richard’s coat in the charity shop the other day with something like 70% wool content for less than £15 which is a lot cheaper and better quality than the man made material coats you see these days which retail for far more. It takes time and energy and leg work to find the best shops in the area for good quality but I think it can be done.
