People of York! Where should I eat?

I'm going to York on the 21st December. I'd love to book somewhere for lunch that has nice food but is cosy and festive with open fires. Any ideas?

No open fire, but Rustique is my go to. Their "set" menu at lunchtime is fabulous. So much choice and such good value.

Maltings, great pub often very busy
Fossgate tap, Fossgate in general has great independent cafes/restaurants.
York has been crazy busy as Xmas market is on.
If you're driving, parking gets full quickly

Another vote for Rustique, had a fantastic meal there, and should imagine it’s gorgeous at Christmas time.
