Why do so many companies use Royal Mail?

I’m so, so fed up with Royal Mail. We rarely see a postman, letters go astray all of the time. Even tracked items sent to the wrong house with a photo of the wrong door for ‘proof’. I ordered some personalised items recently and surprise, surprise they didn’t show up. I’m sick of it. I’ve complained multiple times but they do nothing about it. I dread anything being sent via Royal Mail. I wonder why so many companies still use them for delivering parcels? Anybody else with me in thinking their service is practically non-existent these days?

I’ll take Royal Mail over Evri every time. We don’t have any issues with Royal Mail at all, but live in London so maybe that’s part of it? Not that it should be, obviously.

Agree.

I'm one of the rarer ones who prefer Evri as our guy is ace and nothing has ever gone missing.

Royal Mail won't leave the parcel then take it to their sorting office which is barely open to collect. Puts me off ordering from anyone who uses them.

I think they're a dying business and they won't last another ten years.

Evri is great where I live, but Royal Mail is on another level bad. We get sent reminder letters of letters we have never received. We are lucky if we receive post once a week and have gone weeks with nothing. I’m starting to think our postman is one of the dodgy ones that dump the Mail or steal it.
@oldcrinkle I agree I think they will be gone soon. Lots of companies switching over to paperless email and there are companies that do a better job of delivering parcels. It’s why I wonder why so many companies still bother using them.
