Tonight despite being very tired I have restless legs and bad TMJD pain, I clench my jaw subconsciously during the day and at night, my whole face is in agony.

Still awake but shattered.

I have the cold and chest/cough from hell which is keeping me awake and pretty sure I just pulled a muscle from coughing.

My brain just doesn't want to switch off.

Have you had a busy day?

TraumatisedatChristmas1986 · 07/12/2023 01:00

I understand. I have hip and lower abdominal pain, it's like a dragging feeling and I have sharp twinges in my hip. I also found out today that DH has been lying again....he hides things from me to 'protect' me, but i feel that he should just be open about things. I am so upset, it's something major.... again.

Neck and jaw pain with TMJD is utterly dreadful, I really do feel for you. Restless legs are dreadful too, you must feel rotten. So sorry OP.

@dothehokeycokey yes I’ve had a busy day my brain won’t shut off either

@TraumatisedatChristmas1986 so sorry to hear you’re having a hard time of it too, I’m very stressed right now too
That’s not good about your DH hiding things from you I hope you can work through it

Yep. Haven't slept more than 2 hrs a night for the last 2 weeks. Feel dreadful! The longer it goes on the more it happens too.

In a lot of pain tonight from hips down sides of legs and can't get comfy and relax but more than that my mind just whizzes constantly . Not necessarily always worrying as such just racing.

Have you been fitted with a dental plate to prevent the temporal dysfunction? It fits over your teeth and stops you clenching and grinding. You only wear it at night but it makes a tremendous.difference.

Tarkan · 07/12/2023 01:23

I had a lovely bath tonight but the water and then towel drying has made my legs really sore so I can't sleep. I have psoriasis and it's been flaring horribly on my legs for the last 6 months or so. None of the stuff that has helped over the last few years is helping with the pain from this flare, as soon as one area clears up, another breaks out.

devuskums · 07/12/2023 01:26

I clench my teeth, dentist said Google mouth guard night for cheaper alternative to dental practice remedies.

I am awake due to nerve pain from hip op. It sucks!

BoredofBlonde · 07/12/2023 01:30

I can't sleep BECAUSE of my new mouth guard 😂 just a weird feeling and I can't get used to it

Plus I'm wired for some reason though my eyes are sore with mnetting but can't wind down

TraumatisedatChristmas1986 · 07/12/2023 03:31

Thanks mercy, I am really feeling it just now. Hopefully you'll have been asleep and not read this reply, I nodded off for a while.

Wheredoesthetime · 07/12/2023 03:33

I can't sleep because I was working my 2nd job tonight after my day job. I'm fucking knackered and up for school run and another full day at work tomorrow.

Cost of living is shite just now

merrykittymass · 07/12/2023 11:08

@SammyScrounge yes I have a mouthguard but that makes it worse as I bite down harder on the mouthguard making my jaws ache more.

I finally got to sleep about 2am and lovely DH let me sleep until 9pm this morning. I still feel like I’ve been hit by a truck and my whole face is aching.

Ive been to see a consultant maxi facial surgeon during covid because the pain was so bad during covid and the waits were so long. I had x-rays to rule out anything nasty and he said it was just stress and fibromyalgia. I’ve tried everything people suggest, magnesium baths, meditation, yoga, supplements, no screens, sex (!), but when your life’s stressful and you have chronic pain there’s not much you can do?

it’s a vicious cycle isn’t it? Pain no sleep, lack of sleep more pain
