Pain in side

Posted a few days ago as I had pain when trying to open my bowels accompanied by pins and needles down my leg. The leg thing got better after a few hours however the pain is persisting.

So since Monday I've had a pain in my left hand side, kind of starts just under my ribs and goes down to just above my hip. I've also not been able to go to the toilet very much. The pain originally was only there when I tried to go to the toilet but now it's pretty much constant. I've also got quite a lot of trapped wind pain and uncomfortable feeling due to not being able to go to the toilet but that's all mainly around the front of my stomach. I'm going to try and make an appt with the Gp tomorrow but has anyone had similar or knows what this pain in my side could be?

When you say you haven’t been to the toilet very much do you mean opening your bowels or emptying your bladder?

What type of pain is it?

Diverticulitis maybe? I had the left hand pain for years, was fobbed off with its IBS, you have too much stress …. Turned out to be diverticulitis flaring up.

@CambridgeLass I'm still able to pass urine but haven't managed to open my bowels much since Monday. Only managed to pass a tiny bit despite feeling like I really need to go

Constipated maybe? Have you taken anything like movicol or senna? That might help.

OP I have no idea what could be causing your symptoms but I really think you should call 111 for some guidance with this if it’s really bothering you tonight. You have nothing to lose by contacting them. Not being able to open your bowels as normal is taken seriously by medics. (And if you should become unable to pass urine that is an emergency and you should head for A&E).

I do hope you are feeling better soon.
