Tips to vanish my cold/flu virus before tomorrow!

It's my works Christmas party tomorrow!

I woke up yesterday feeling a bit pants, sore throat/headache/ runny nose, worked a 12 hour very busy shift last night.

Not long woke up and my sinus's are in agony and I feel ten times worse!

I've been taking beechams which helps, downs fresh orange juice like there's no tomorrow. Tiger balm on the go

(It's not Covid!)

I really don't want to miss my Christmas party, spent a small fortune on my pretty dress. And it's been such a shite heavy busy two years in work we all need it

Any tried and tested tips?

Hot honey and lemon water - a mug of hot freshly boiled water, with half a lemon (cut into slices), leave to cool slightly for a few minutes and then add a couple teaspoons of honey.
Bonus points if you juice the other half of the lemon and add the pure lemon juice in there too.

Wear a light neck scarf in bed. I find warming up the glands in my neck really speeds up the immune response and I shift colds much faster.

I usually double up on the vitamin C effervescent tablets and chug back as much water as possible. I'm sure it usually helps shift it for me, or at least I feel better because of it. You could steam your face to ease the sinus pain.

I would also be overjoyed for a reason not to attend my work's christmas party but it looks like you want to go to yours 😁

Hot lemon and honey with cloves, sliced fresh ginger and a massive spoonful of turmeric. Steep for about 6 mins. The turmeric doesn't dissolve so you have to stir it then swig down and hope you don't gag, but it has powerful anti inflammatory properties.

Use a facial steamer or bowl of boiling water with towel over your head and a drop or two of olbas oil to clear sinuses.

Then rub menthol onto your chest and soles of feet, go to bed in warm PJs, a fleece dressing gown and fleece socks with a hot water bottle under the duvet and a spare pair of PJs by the bed. You will probably wake up sweating in the night and need to change PJs. The fleece dressing gown stops you from sweating onto bed clothes, so they stay dry. The sweat forces out the illness.

Hot shower in the morning and wash hair. Berocca, coffee and day nurse.

If all that doesn't clear it, you are too ill to go!

I only ever try this cure when I am absolutely desperate to dry up my sinuses: peel and crush a couple of cloves of garlic, swallow them followed by a large glass of water.

You will feel the sinuses dry up.

Whether you will be fit for the office party will depend on much. Fresh parsley can help get rid of the smell of garlic.
