Pork shoulder - slow cooker

Bemyclementine · 06/12/2023 11:02

I have a pork shoulder joint, and am at home today so would like to use the slow cooker, rather than roast later.

Can I just put it in with some onion, carrots and stock?

And do I need to take the skin/fat off?

I use the slimming world pulled pork recipe, but whatever recipe you need at least 8 hours, ideally longer otherwise it will be tough.

And I keep the fat on, but take it off once it's cooked.

I take the skin off and make crackling separately.

Ah too late to start now then? 6 or 7 not enough?

Yes and up to you! Yum.

I'd probably start on high and perhaps turn down later. Depends on the size and how tender you want it. Go for it, and if necessary transfer to oven to finish off.

I don't want pulled pork, and have just realised I don't have any onions! So will leave it for the weekend I think
