Anyone from the Czech Republic or who knows about Christmas there?

I have just read an interesting article in the Guardian about weird European folklore traditions for Christmas.

Years ago I had a friend from the Czech Republic. She told me that part of their Christmas traditions involve smacking your head really hard against a table so that you see "a Christmas pig". I am not sure if I have dreamed the whole conversation or if she was having me on, but would be curious to know if this is true.

I’m Czech and no that definitely isn’t true. Your friend sounds absolutely crazy but thanks for giving me a laugh this morning. There is an old legend from years ago though that if you fast all day you would see a golden pig on Christmas Eve so maybe you got mixed up but you definitely don’t smack your head.
