Good restaurants that do vouchers in Manchester

Any ideas? Didn't really want a chain restaurant but it's quite tricky to find independents that do online vouchers.

Australasia

Thanks, that looked great, hadn't heard of it before but recent reviews look ropey unfortunately 😕

I don’t know if Hawksmoor do vouchers, but definitely check as it’s a fantastic restaurant.

Hawksmoor do vouchers (I've got one in my to use pile!) and it's delicious food.

The Ivy do too, again not independent but vouchers and Manchester.

cockwomble73 · 05/12/2023 20:44

Ooh I'll have a look at hawksmoor, I'm pretty sure they haven't been there.

Didn't realise Hawksmoor was a steak restaurant and the person I'm buying for doesn't eat steak 😂 they have one chicken dish and fish on the menu but it's a bit limited for non steak eaters.

Back to the drawing board. They love small plates/sharing/tasting type things, if that helps!

El Gato Negro Tapas Manchester

I was going to say El Gato too.

I think a lot of independent places do these now, so if you have somewhere in mind just check out their website. I just looked at one of my favourites, Pasta Factory, and yes, they do them.

Gutted to hear Australasia isn’t what it was, btw! Finally went about eighteen months ago and loved it.

TiredandLate · 05/12/2023 20:58

Six by Nico do vouchers, not sure about online though.

TiredandLate · 05/12/2023 21:00

Canto might too, lovely tapas and I found the service much better than El Gato, which was disappointing. Food was lovely but I haven't rushed back.

CountTo10 · 05/12/2023 21:01

TNQ in the Northern Quarter. They do gift vouchers. Fabulous food and if you wait until January they often have a 50% off offer on.

Fluckle · 05/12/2023 21:02

El Gato is fab, that's a good shout.

Zampa · 05/12/2023 21:03

Or try Blinker, a fabulous cocktail bar. They do vouchers (and toasties).

cockwomble73 · 05/12/2023 21:03

Yes we have been to el gato, it is lovely.

I'll check out the other suggestions...has anyone tried la Bandera?

Was also going to recommend TNQ. or Hawksmoor - a chain, but a really nice one.

Oh, and Tast.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 05/12/2023 21:04

Or Osma, but that's not in the city centre

Osma looks right up their street, and is actually quite close to where they live so might be exactly what I'm looking for!

Yes, earlier this year. It didn’t feel quite as modern in terms of ambience as some of the other places named - if that’s important - but the food and wine were great. I went with a group of friends and everyone was happy.

QueenKong101 · 05/12/2023 21:18

Hispi in Didsbury or Kala in the city centre. Same indie restaurant group and both excellent.

BarbaraofSeville · 05/12/2023 21:20

Bundobust (Indian vegetarian street food) so no steak in sight, just small plates of delicious food, craft beer and cocktails. Quite casual though (well the one in Leeds is, I assume they're similar).

CheesyChipsOnWembleyWay · 05/12/2023 21:39

Osma is fab.

If up Prestwich way works and they like chocolate, slatterys could be an option as they do vouchers for their dining room
