3 Tummy Bugs I’m 35 days - normal

DC is in P1 and has had 3 tummy bugs in 35 days?!?

They only ever had two stomach bugs in the whole 2 yrs at pre school with 26 kids.

is this normal?!? First one was locked on as they were seriously poorly with - V and a bit of D. The second was D&V but no temp, no tummy ache totally fine in selves, only vomited twice but diarrhoea went on for well over a week on and off - he’s missed 7 days off school because of it so far.

Now the explosive diarrhoea has started again - not poorly, no temp, one thing to note is that for a couple of days last time and this time before it started their poo looked quite grey and furry?!? Could the bug be a red herring and maybe something more chronic going on?

It's not impossible that it's the same bug, or his system having been upset by the bug and taking time to recover.

GP who might do a stool test, maybe worth trying a probiotic?

This sounds like the Winter vomiting bug a virus, there is no immunity gained, but improving hygiene may help.

You do get temporary immunity for a few months, so I'd say not likely for every time they've been ill

Thanks all @ditalini weve been doing a probiotic since the first episode. Think will speak to the GP for some advice. They can’t keep missing so much school. No vomiting woth this one.

Poor child! I'd seek advice from a dietician if you can about how to build up healthy gut bacteria again.
