I hate them and find them absolutely suffocating but my house is warm. If you have a very cold house then perhaps not.

LooksLikeImStuckHere · 04/12/2023 23:19

I’m in mine now. I love it. I have a relatively cool 1930s house. Was a blessing when recently in a turn of the century house in Scotland. I would have worn two.

Aturtleatemysandwich · 04/12/2023 23:19

I wear it all winter. I’d say it is the equivalent of wearing two thick jumpers. My house is 18-19c and I don’t find it too warm unless I’m being very active. For sitting on the sofa, working at a desk, watching TV etc it’s great. For cooking, cleaning, lots of moving around etc it’s too warm and also too baggy at the arms and it just gets in the way.

I love mine for lounging around in, but not for moving around in!

lockdownrainbow · 04/12/2023 23:33

Depends what you are doing in it, and what the temperature in your house is.

When I wfh, I am pretty stationary, and I don't have the heating on, so my non-branded Oodie is wonderful. Keeps me very snug.

However, if you have your heating on all day, or if you are doing something that is physical, then it would be too hot for most people, as it's not designed for that.
Bit like asking would it be too warm to wear this jumper on the beach in North Africa.....

tealfluff · 04/12/2023 23:53

I get too hot in my Oodie, even with the heating off all day and when just lounging around!

I’m going to try a cheaper (thinner) version.

blackfluffycat · 05/12/2023 00:10

It's ok in short bursts but you don't realise how warm you are until you take it off.

SwedeCarrotLime · 05/12/2023 08:34

‘Suffocating’ is right. I couldn’t get out of it fast enough when I tried one. I think it’s all the polyester 🤢

TallulahG · 05/12/2023 16:36

I love mine for when I get on the sofa after dinner to watch tv for the evening.

You can't wear it when moving around, i.e cleaning etc, you'll get too hot and it gets in the way. It's a wearable blanket so wear it when you'd use a blanket!

grass67 · 05/12/2023 16:40

My primark version is fabulous, not as thick or heavy. Much cheaper too.

Tinkerbyebye · 05/12/2023 18:09

I love mine, in fact I have two as I bought another one this year. I don’t have the heating on during the day so wear it then, and in the evenings if I am hot I just turn the heating off. Love them

Yellowdaysaregood · 05/12/2023 21:28

I like mine for lounging, but it can get really hot really quickly and so I would appreciate one with a zip as they are a right faff to get on and off, I tend wear a dressing gown instead for this reason, if you're a woman of a certain age like me you'll know what I mean😂🌡️🔥

AlltheFs · 05/12/2023 21:30

I love mine when WFH but it’s definitely for sitting in with the heating off.

cardibach · 05/12/2023 21:31

It depends how hot your house is really OP.
I have my heating set at 18 now I have one. Was at 20 before. If I’d left it at 20 I’d likely be too hot. That’s rather the point.

TheCompactPussycat · 05/12/2023 21:40

I'm wearing mine right now and I love it. It's a kudd.ly

I'm a little too warm right now as the log burner is also lit. But half an hour ago I was stood in the garden on the phone (because the walls of my house are too solid to use my mobile properly indoors) and I was a comfy temperature, and later this week I'll wear it when I wfh instead of having to put the heating on in the day.

keye · 05/12/2023 21:43

I wear my Tesco one far more than my Oodie branded one, which is just too bulky and a pita

mamaduckbone · 05/12/2023 21:44

I absolutely love mine, but we live in a chilly 1930s house and no one else in my family feels the cold like I do.
It does kind of send me to sleep though!
