Quizzers assemble!

It's back. My stupidly hard Xmas work quiz is live. As per usual I've done round one and now I'm stuck on the answer for round 2.

I've actually identified all the pictures, found the clue but the answer isn't working 😭

Sorry for crappy pictures but if you use the first letter of each of the album names it spells out "album ones singers" so I thought it must be the singers on the Arctic Monkeys album 'AM'....but whichever way I put the names in it doesn't work.

Then I thought as the clue at the top is "Artistless" maybe I had to remove Alex Turner (as Turner is a famous artist) but I'm still striking out!

As always, any help appreciated & if I've missed any of the amazing quizzers who usually play along (I know I have) please feel free to tag them

Can anyone see the letters under Brazil and Japan? I can’t see them as the arrows are in the way when I try and zoom!

I went down the airports route (there’s a US airport with the code BGK) with the flags and nothing!

Getting my thinking cap back on 🧢

Yeah but all the letters under the flags are in alphabetical order so could just as easily be GKB or KGB etc <brain hurts>

It was the Japan one which stumped me (remembered I had seen EH mentioned upthread!) and there were no airports with any combination of E and H for Japan, so that theory is out 😫

Saisong · 05/12/2023 12:10

Brazil is B (so there are 2 Bs)
Japan is EH (on one line) then R below

It's not presidents, currencies, capitals, Olympic cities...

minou123 · 05/12/2023 12:16

I thought maybe hosts of the World Cup, but Thailand hasn't hosted it, yet.

It's not presidents, currencies, capitals, Olympic cities...

Or football leagues or formula 1

or assassinated leaders

WhenDoISleep · 05/12/2023 12:17

I still think the use of the USSR flag is a clue.

EnglishMenHaveTails · 05/12/2023 12:19

I wondered if it was something to do with space programs because of ussr flag, but haven't got anywhere with that.

I’ve gone through airports, currency, food, sport, checked who has ever been in the LoN and when they joined and/or left, still nothing!

Maybe something to do with ww1 or ww2?

But then how does Brazil or Thailand fit in

Urgh, I hate this game. 😂

NotSoDusty · 05/12/2023 12:20

Marathons? 'V' =Valencia in Spain, 'D' = Delhi in India, 'B G K' = Boston, Georgia, Kentucky in USA??

I'm not even convincing myself!

WhatWindyWeather · 05/12/2023 12:20

Going back to the one that we think is to do with Strictly, apologies if this has already been answered, but do we know what the numbers in the left hand column relate to?

It's the number of the series. So the 1st, 5th etc.

WetBandits · 05/12/2023 12:24

Not national anthems or the main public holidays either 😡

WetBandits · 05/12/2023 12:25

OP why have you roped us all into this! 😂😂

definitely coming back next year for more brain-melting quiz fun

ApocalypseNowt · 05/12/2023 12:27

I can’t find any bloody links! Most of the countries have their own alphabet so no common letters at all for any rabbit holes I go down 😅 I’ve got about 20 tabs open now, what a way to use my last day of annual leave 😂

ApocalypseNowt · 05/12/2023 12:44

There's one more puzzle on this round. I'll post that so we can have a break from flaggy hell.
