I'm feeling a bit anxious after hearing the news today about slashing migration figures. They have said that they will reduce or slash the Shortage Occupation scheme, whereby employers can give visas to workers who fill a shortage in certain sectors. My husband is here on a Tier 2 work visa via this scheme, which his company sponsor him for. He is a software engineer. He earns 85k.
Will this pose a problem when his employer has to renew his work visa? Will they not renew it?
We have a mortgage to pay and he is the sole earner. If he's deported, we're stuffed.
